Easy Liver Cleansing Tea

You will need ½ fresh squeezed lemon (preferably organic), 1 drop peppermint essential oil (therapeutic grade like Young Living or DoTerra), 1 drop lemon essential oil, and 1 Cup water. Place oils into lemon juice, then add hot (not boiling) water and drink. You may add a touch of sweetener in the form of Stevia or raw honey if desired. Wait 20 minutes before eating anything.

Why cleanse the liver? Your liver is one of the most important organs in the body, responsible for filtering the blood, secreting digestive juices to help break down food, metabolizing fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, breaking down excess hormones (like estrogen), storing fat-soluble vitamins, and nearly 300 other critical functions. In Eastern medicine, the liver is also the organ that stores certain unresolved emotions such as anger, bitterness, and rage. With all of the toxins existing in today’s world, it is of utmost importance that liver cleansing be done on a regular basis.

You will find many pre-made products in health food stores and online with the purpose of liver support. While I have used some detox products, I prefer to cleanse my body with readily available, natural ingredients when at all possible.
